Newmarket Racecourse Topography
The diagrams below show the topography of the two Newmarket Racecourses, both the Rowley Mile Course and the July Course.
Newmarket Rowley Mile
The topography of the two courses is actually very similar. They are both quite undulating and testing as they are generally uphill most of the way. The Rowley Mile undulations are shown above.
Newmarket July Course
The July course shown above is very similar, the last 2 furlongs in particular have quite a steep incline, and you often see horses tying up in the run-in as a result.
