Brighton Racecourse Topography

The diagram below shows the topography of the Brighton Racecourse.





Brighton is very much a course for the specialist, some horses thrive there and some hate it. You can see from the diagram that it is like a rollercoaster with constant undulations, and is generally downhill most of the way until the final furlong. What is also an issue which can't be seen from the diagram is the camber on the course similar to Epsom, which causes some horses to get very unbalanced and hang.
